Christian Morality Without Christ.

I see in “The West Australian” today that Peter Carnley’s recent comments are causing a stir. I have to say I agree with Barry Hickey on this one but I wonder about the relevance of arguing such issues. As Christians we can argue a variety of issues and try to tell the world what people should do but it can often be a bit like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

What use is promoting a ‘moral’ life here on earth if we’re not pointing ahead to eternity?

Even if we did manage to get everyone following what we consider to be a Christian morality, what use is that without Christ? Surely we should spend our efforts in introducing people to Christ and then letting the Holy Spirit change their morality from within. At least then it would truly be God’s morality that people were following not our shallow interpretation of it.
