Blog reading made easy

I can still remember when I started reading blogs and trying to keep up with every post from my favourites.

Back then I was probably reading around twenty blogs and it was taking more and more time as I opened each blog only to find that half of them hadn’t updated since I last checked. That seems like such a long time ago.

Thanks to site feeds I can now keep up to date with around 180 blogs and news providers without having to open each website individually. I’m reading a lot more but spending less time doing it.

If you haven’t heard of RSS, Atom or site feeds before you can check out this article at Wikipedia for more information. Basically feeds make it a lot easier to read blogs and other information sources.

I’ve recently added a button to the top of the left hand sidebar, and to the bottom of each post, to make subscribing easy if you read blogs through Bloglines, Google Reader, Yahoo, NewsGator, MSN or a number of other services.

If you still don’t have the time to surf the internet you can subscribe to The Journey via email through FeedBlitz. Instead of having to visit this blog each day, this blog can visit you. Just click here, enter your email address, and you’ll never miss a post. You’ll get one email a day with anything I’ve posted on that day. You can unsubscribe at any time so why not give it a go?

Can I encourage you to subscribe to The Journey one way or another? I’d love you to be part of the community that is continuing to grow here and subscribing helps you stay in touch with every post.

Whichever way you choose to read my blog let me say thank you for doing so. I truly appreciate the fact that you take the time to read my random thoughts and participate in the conversation through your comments.

  • Thanks, Rodney! I’ve been using Bloglines to keep up with your posts and many others. I like it, but I was wondering about other options. Think I’ll look at Google Reader…

Thank you for being such a dedicated blogger! Have a wonderful day! (Thanks for visiting!)

  • I was using an open source program called Feed Reader for ages as I just couldn’t see a web based app being fast enough to keep up. Then I tried out Google Reader and I am hooked! I can keep all my feeds in one place (not some at work and some at home) and I can tag them for sharing etc really easily.
