Damien Leith Returns

I was joined in the 98.5 Sonshine FM studios this morning by 2006 Australian Idol, Damien Leith. It was his second visit to my morning programme.

The Irish born singer-songwriter, who won the hearts and votes of the nation during Australian Idol 2006, has been working solidly since we last chatted back in July. In the past couple of months he’s released the single ’22 Steps’, then his album ‘Where We Land’ was released, debuting at number one. His new single ‘All I Want is You’ is out now and getting some good airplay around the country.

On top of all the music, Damien has released his first novel, One More Time. The book follows the adventure of Sean, an adventurer who becomes caught up in the mystery of Nepal as he treks through the spectacular Annapurna Mountains and deep into guerilla territory. It’s been described as part love story, part thriller.

Damien was once again a pleasure to interview and it felt like catching up with an old friend. Unfortunately, his tight schedule meant that we didn’t have as much time to chat as I would have liked. I’m hoping he’ll return sometime so that we can continue the conversation.
