Low cost ways to pamper yourself

money.jpgThe news is gloomy. We keep hearing about the effects of the global financial crisis.

People are losing jobs and belts are being tightened around Australia and the rest of the world.

When times are tight the first things to go from the household budget are life’s luxuries. We no longer pamper ourselves or indulge in those treats that we’ve enjoyed in the past.

While times were good we got used to buying whatever we felt we needed or wanted. That’s no longer an option for many so should we simply forget about treating or pampering ourselves?

Life Skills Trainer, Jill Bonanno, joined me on Friday morning on 98.5 Sonshine FM for our weekly radio segment, Simply Living.

It can be a very rude awakening when you have to start deciding what to cut out when tightening the belt. When you’ve built a lifestyle around little pampering times or spending money on hair, beauty, entertainment and more extravagant foods it can be difficult going “cold turkey” when having to save money.

Therefore, I want to talk about and get peoples ideas for little ways to pamper ourselves without breaking the bank.

During my discussions with Jill, we discovered what we always knew; you can’t pay for the things that really matter in life.

As well as finding ways to pamper ourselves for less, we talked about ways to reconnect with others and to enjoy the time we share with family and friends.

If you’d like to hear our discussion just press the play button on the audio player at the bottom of this post.

What are the ways that you manage to pamper yourself without spending a lot of money? What are the treats that you enjoy that don’t cost you too much? I’d love to hear what you have to say.
