<description>12 parties live in this house and apart from the landlords we know no one.
When we go on holiday we park our cars at my friend´s place and she keeps an eye on them. This friend is also my boss at work...

When I was a kid I had friends from Kindergarten, not from in the street. But I suppose in villages neighbours still know each other quite well over here.
Actually a sad thing. People move in or out, you sometimes hear them but you just don´t know them...

<description>Sorry to comment again Rodney but I tip I heard is something I&#039;ve utilised more than once

When going on away on holidays or business ask your neighbours to just keep an eye on your place

It simply gets you talking &amp; makes you more dependent on your neighbours which fosters good relationships - it&#039;s worked for me in getting to know my neighbours

<description>When I was a kid growing in Perth up many decades ago I would often go into neighbours homes but only if my friends lived there.

But my parents rarely, if ever, did so.

So I wonder if the neighbour drop in thing was not as prevalent even in the 1950&#039;s &amp; 60&#039;s.

Maybe it was bigger before cars covered the streets

This year my wife &amp; I ran a christmas bbq for the 6 townhouses on our block - everyone loved it - it got us interacting even more &amp; will become an annual tradition.

Maybe we need more street christmas parties
