November, 2010:

Albany to Perth 2010 Days Five and Six

Last night I slept in my own bed. There really is something wonderful about being home but the journey has certainly been worth it.

I was away from home for just over a week and in that time I cycled 548.77 kilometres. (That was 516.33 kilometres of ‘official’ riding and a couple of short training rides in Albany before we started.)

We met some amazing people and shared stories of many who have faced and battled cancer.

The team was incredible. From our junior cheer squad to the riders and the amazing support crew, everyone played their part to make the event an incredible success. We cycle up and down hills in extremely hot temperatures, all determined to squeeze every drop of energy out of our bodies for the cause.

I’ll be writing more about the ride in coming days.

We’ve played our part. Now it’s your turn.

Albany to Perth 2010 Day Three

Day three from Katanning to Wagin was our shortest day at around 58 kilometres but it was certainly warm and we had some hills to beat. Great day with the team continuing to work well together.
