Thumbs Up! Edition Thirteen

Thumbs Up! is ready to roll for another week.

As we get closer to Christmas I certainly hope that many more people will give the gift of encouragement by submitting their own Thumbs Up! posts..

How about deciding now to write a Thumbs Up! post today and sending me the details to include in the next edition?

If this is the first you’ve heard of Thumbs Up! and you’re wondering what it’s about you can read the details here.

Roger Carr presents One Child – 25 Acts of Kindness – Making A Difference posted at his Everyday Giving Blog. Can I encourage you to read Roger’s post? It is truly inspiring.

Romi returns to say Thank You, Administrators at her blog, Romi’s Journal. It’s a post of thanks to those who put in all the hard work of running Life with Christ, which hosts free and ad-free blogs.

Isabella Mori highlights a fellow blogger with her post Practical Creativity posted at Change Therapy, saying, “An article about a blog post that didn’t win a contest – but I liked it so much, I nominated it for a consolation prize. This person wrote a very good post on applying creativity in a very practical way.”

I don’t think I’ve left anyone out but if you did post a submission this week and you can’t see it here, please email me so that I can add your post. If you missed out on being a part of Thumbs Up! this week, get posting now and submit for next week.

Get your posts in for the next edition

Just a quick reminder that the next edition of Thumbs Up! is on its way.

Submissions close at midnight Sunday, Western Australian time. (It may be sooner than you think.)

Thumbs Up! has dwindled a little over recent weeks due to lack of posts but I’m hoping to revive the idea and continue accentuating the positive.

You can find the Thumbs Up! criteria and code for the badges here. Remember that the easiest way to participate is to fill in the Thumbs Up! Blog Carnival submission form. Once you’ve entered the permalink URL of your post, the form fills in most of the details for you.

By the way, if you use any kind of social bookmarking, such as Stumble Upon or Digg, and you’d like to see more participants for Thumbs Up!, why not go to the original Thumbs Up! post and click on the relevant button at the bottom of the post.

I’m looking forward to posting the thirteenth edition on Monday.

Thumbs Up! Edition Twelve

Thumbs Up! has been taking quite a break of recent weeks. The truth is, I just haven’t been getting submissions.

I wondered whether I should just let it go but I figure it’s still worthwhile and so I’ll give it another try.

How about deciding now to write a Thumbs Up! post today and sending me the details to include in the next edition?

If this is the first you’ve heard of Thumbs Up! and you’re wondering what it’s about you can read the details here.

Dean’s written a wonderful post this time around with his Thumbs Up to Unknown Person posted at his blog My Jarrol Spot. It’s a simple thanks to someone he doesn’t even know and may never meet. Are there people that you don’t know who help to put a smile on your face?

I want to give a huge Thumbs Up! to Justin who went well and truly above the call of duty in ensuring that everyone’s comments travelled to my new WordPress blog. Even though he didn’t know me, he put hours of work into finding solutions to some difficult issues.

Snoskred also deserves a Thumbs Up! for not only hosting this blog at a very reasonable price but for her tireless efforts to set me up and help me out at every step to ensure the smoothest possible transition to a new blogging platform.
I don’t think I’ve left anyone out but if you did post a submission this week and you can’t see it here, please email me so that I can add your post. If you missed out on being a part of Thumbs Up! this week, get posting now and submit for next week.

Thumbs Up! Edition Eleven

Sorry for not posting this yesterday.

I’d love get a few more posts for the next edition. You can post something today, let me know and it’ll be part of next week’s Thumbs Up!

If this is the first you’ve heard of Thumbs Up! and you’re scratching your head wondering what it’s about you can read the details here.

It’s always great to see those who usually only get a mention when things aren’t going well, receive some recognition when they do the right thing. Graham Barker was recently extremely pleased with Good Service From A Bank. He’s posted the details at Graham’s Paddock. (I can tell already that I’m going to have to spend a lot more time investigating Graham’s website and blog. Some great stuff to check out.)

This week Romi has written about The Church Bazaar. I love the way that Romi is able to see God working through something as simple as a church bazaar. It’s when we see God’s influence and direction in every area of our life that we really start to understand how everything we do is ‘spiritual’. God doesn’t want us to break our lives into segments labeled as spiritual and secular, he wants to be involved in everything we do. Romi’s post was published at Romi’s Journal.

I don’t think I’ve left anyone out but if you did post a submission this week and you can’t see it here, please email me so that I can add your post. If you missed out on being a part of Thumbs Up! this week, get posting now and submit for next week.

Thumbs Up! Edition Ten

We’ve finally hit double figures. Time for Edition Ten of Thumbs Up!

Thanks to those who have taken part this time around. There are a couple of wonderful posts to highlight. (Sorry that I’ve posted Thumbs Up! so late this week.)

If this is the first you’ve heard of Thumbs Up! and you’re wondering what it’s about you can read the details here.

Romi presents a post about fellow blogger, Sharon, posted at Romi’s Journal. According to Romi, “Sharon is a person of prayer: she always prays for her family and friends, and for people she has never seen as well. Whenever I post my prayer requests to the group, Sharon emails me her prayers and encouraging words.”

Have you ever had that sinking feeling when you realise you’ve lost something or left something behind? Isabella Mori has and so she tells us why she was so Grateful in Seattle over at her blog change therapy. Isabella’s story is a real feel good Thumbs Up!

I don’t think I’ve left anyone out but if you did post a submission this week and you can’t see it here, please email me so that I can add your post. If you missed out on being a part of Thumbs Up! this week, get posting now and submit for next week.
