More Sexy TV

Clint at The Wilderness has posted on the programme Good Sex that I mentioned in my last post.

It seems to have stirred up a few lines of thought in his comments section.

The interesting thing is that all the comments come from people who haven’t seen the show but I think that even the concept of the programme is well and truly open for discussion.

If you’ve seen the show or have your own thoughts on whether this is a good idea or not, let’s know.

Church dabbles in Good Sex

I haven’t seen the TV programme Good Sex but it certainly is an interesting concept for the church to be promoting in our society.

I found this article which explains the idea behind the show.

Beverley – York – Northam – Toodyay

I mentioned our Ladies Only Ride a few days back. The ride went very well.

The ladies seemed to enjoy taking 3 days out to spend time with other ladies. Us guys did all the cooking and organising so that the ladies could enjoy their time out.

The ladies did remarkably well, cycling over 100km in 3 days. They also raised significant funds which will go towards Bible Society literacy projects in Pakistan.

We stopped at cafes in York and Northam and provided a candle lit dinner for the ladies on Saturday night.

It was great fun and I hope that all the ladies will want to come back again next year.

Bible Study in a Bar

I found this story at Christianity Today about a Bible study for non-church goers which has had remarkable success and growth.

It’s a great read, especially as they’re 25 years down the track with doing things differently.

Python's cash in on Mel

It’s no accident that The Life of Brian is set for re-release. It’s all part of a plan to cash in on the success of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ.

Python member Terry Jones didn’t mince words about why the troupe’s own take on the life of the Son of God was being rushed into re-release this month.

“It’s shameless commercial opportunism on our part,” he told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The original plan was to get the movie out for a re-run in August – the month that marks the 25th anniversary of the Python’s tale of an accidental messiah.

Then came Gibson’s epic which has taken the world by storm.

“We just saw the opportunity and thought we’d take it,” Jones said. “We’re definitely trying to cash in on Mel’s enormous success.”
