That Darn Handbook

As previously mentioned we bought a new car last week. Of course when I say new – I mean a 5 year old used car – but that’s a lot newer than our Falcon. Pauline will be the main driver while I continue to cycle most of the time.

I was reading through the handbook that came with the car and I’ve decided that manufacturers actually set buyers up for disappointment. With just about every feature of the car they have Option A – Option B – Option C – depending on which model you’ve chosen. For instance there is option A stereo – with the CD player and all the fruit – Option B stereo with CD player a few less features – and then there’s option C – the basic radio cassette that came with our car.

The handbook talks about the wonderful cruise control feature that we don’t have – the nifty little storage spots – that aren’t in the model we bought – and the climate control that would normally go where our basic air conditioner sits.

We really think the car is great and it’s more than enough for our needs – I just wish they wouldn’t point out all the stuff it’s missing.

  • Rodney! I knew I was forgetting someone, but I couldn’t figure out who it was. I changed my template but forgot to copy my blogroll, so I had to reconstruct from memory ~ a very poor memory.

You look great in the photo, and so does your ‘new’ car. Your boy is adorable ;o)

    Blessings!
