Stormy Weather

The winds have been pretty wild over the last few days around Perth. There were some very strong gusts last night causing a fair bit of damage and causing widespread power blackouts.

I had a real job staying upright on my bike as I pedalled to work this morning just after 7:00.

There were bits of foliage scattered across the road. A number of wheelie bins and shopping trolleys were laying down on the job by the side of the road.

Not far from our place I noticed a section of fence that had succumbed to the wind.

Then – half way to work – I was astonished to see a complete house missing. There was nothing. No roof. No walls. No fittings. Just the concrete slab.

Though I imagine that had more to do with the fact that it was a home in the initial stages of being built rather than the effects of the wind.
