The title of this post shoud be enough to warn off those who may be a little squeamish. I hope so anyway because it gets worse.
The sores are actually mouth ulcers and they’ve taken up residence on the roof of my mouth and the back of my throat. I counted about 15 yesterday. Today I think there’s less but they keep leaving to make way for their friends who then move on in.
While they’re actually reasonably small, they feel so big that I’m wondering why my teeth haven’t yet started charging them as co-tennants of my mouth. They’re not all that comfortable either. A sore throat is bad enough but these guys are a pain in the neck. (Pun intended.)
Being a radio announcer means that it’s not all that handy having throat ailments.
I have to head out soon to be part of the live broadcast from Church Together. Then I’ll come home and get some rest before heading off to work in the morning.
Pauline got talking to my doctor at church today about my ulcer situation and so I think I’m going to have to take them to visit him tomorrow afternoon.

Sounds pretty horrible.
get well soon and don’t overwork yourself. Its funny how such a ‘little’ problem medically can have such a big impact in someones life, especially job. Just goes to show that there’s no such thing as a “small” problem.
God bless.
Hi Rodney… Ouch! So sorry to hear about the ugly visitors in your mouth and I’ll be praying they will pack up and leave soon. Take good care of yourself and God bless…Debra
Thanks for your good wishes and especially your prayers.
I think things are improving. I’m tired of feeling less than 100%.
Oh dear, how awful for you. Gargling in salt water every 2-4 hours has always worked wonders for me and my family when we have mouth ulcers. I’m sure you’ve seen your Dr. by now and I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks Amelia. I’ve got an appointment after work today.
I’ve been doing the salt water gargling thing and have been surprised at how well it has worked so far.
OK, you will have had your doctors appointment by now, and be on the way to recovery, but I just wanted to add my own 2 cents.
I have found that “Kenalog in Orobase” works wonders on mouth ulcers (I call it Kenny Loggins!). It fixes smaller ulcers literaly overnight (I put it in before I go to bed), and larger ones only take a couple of days. It does feel rather wierd in your mouth though because it sticks in the same spot. Don’t know how it would go for multiple ulcers though. There is probably more to it if you have multiple ulcers, maybe foot and mouth disease! No, seriously, we humans can get foot and mouth disease. My niece gave it to me a few years back, and same symptoms as you have.
My prayers are with you, ulcers really are a pain in the neck (pun also intended).
