Strange Happenings at the Doctor's Surgery

I’ve been to the doctor. After a quick look inside my cake hole he understood why my throat would be sore.

I’m now on some capsules to get things cleared up.

The strange thing was, while waiting in the waiting room I decided to read a copy of Reader’s Digest. Nothing strange there you might say. Well no, but it all started to get a bit creepy when I looked at the date on the cover. October 2004.

How weird is that? When was the last time you found a current copy of Reader’s Digest in a doctor’s waiting room? Do I have the best doctor or what?

I’m used to finding Reader’s Digests with articles about the Gulf War and George Bush. No, not George W – his dad – and the first Gulf War. When I sit in a doctor’s waiting room I expect to read magazines with articles that tell me that the Y2K bug will destroy us all or that John Wood has joined the 7 Network to star in a new country town police drama.

Nice to see that some doctors care enough to keep their patients informed and up to date.

  • Yeah, I know about that one! My stepdad is a doctor and it’s great because we get some pretty cool current magazines. They sit around the house for a few months and then (maybe) go down to the surgery. He reckons that people tend to nick the new ones if they’re out there!
