Train Wreck

A former staffer for Kim Beazley has described Labor’s massive weekend election loss as a train wreck.

There was almost another train wreck on the weekend. We went to Castledare Miniature Railway on Sunday to catch up with family and to celebrate Pauline’s birthday which was on Saturday. The kids just love going on the train rides so they had a ball.

During their second ride the train was just nearing the station and picnic area and the kids were smiling and waving at those of us who weren’t on the train, when we heard a rather odd mechanical noise.

One of the carriages had derailled.

Thankfully, the little carriages made it easy for everyone to jump out while about 5 men lifted the carriage back onto the rails. Then everyone jumped back in and the ride continued.

I think it might take a little more work to get the ALP back on track.

  • I’m sure Beazley smiling that Lathem performed so badly. In his eyes this should have been his election. If he had pushed some of his own policies I have no doubt it would have been a much closer result.

Sour grapes? Maybe if he comes out and says, ‘I told you so.’
