I'm on my way …

The tickets are arranged and so it finally feels like I’m going.

I’ll be getting up very early on Saturday morning the 19th of February and heading to the airport. At 8:25am I’ll take off and head toward Singapore. Upon arriving in Singapore I’ll wander, with several travelling companions, to find a good coffee shop. We’ll sip coffee for a couple of hours before boarding another plane.

At 10:00pm that night we’ll touch down in beautiful downtown Delhi, India.

A group of 9 of us will be in India for two and a half weeks. We’ll cycle around 500km together with about 20 local cyclists.

I was in India in February last year so it’ll be 2 whole years since my last visit. I can hardly wait.

I’m looking forward to meeting old friends and creating new friendships. I’m looking forward to introducing the good friends that will be travelling with me to the sights, sounds and smells of India. I’m looking forward to cycling next to camels, elephants and cows again. I’m also looking forward to a Chicken Byriani at the wonderful little restaurant below the YWCA in Delhi.

India is a wonderful place and I look forward to sharing a lot more about my journey with you over the coming months.

  • Sounds exciting. How does the climate play with your stamina/endurance? I’m looking forward to visiting India precariously through your posts.

  • The climate’s not too bad at that time of year.

It’ll be just at the end of winter so the temperatures should be quite mild.

There’s a constant smell of smoke in the air but I’m told it’s not as bad as it used to be.

  • I am very envious. That sounds like a lot of fun and quite an adventure. Not just an everyday bike ride. I am looking forward to your postings and photos.
