Sorry …

Being an Australian I have resisted speaking about the U.S. election to this point but have you spotted the Sorry Everybody website?

It contains hundreds of photos of people in the U.S. saying sorry to the rest of the world that George W. Bush was re-elected. Most are holding pieces of paper with their apologies. The general theme of the apologies is that many people tried to dump Bush and that not all in the U.S. wanted him back.

It sure beats the Don’t Blame Me I Voted for ….. stickers we see after each election.

The page also has a smattering of pics from people around the rest of the world saying thanks for the apologies.

I’m sure the site will be offensive to some, and not just for the language that some people use, but I find it pretty amusing.

Obviously I feel saddened that the recent election caused such a deep rift between members of the American population and not being totally in touch with all the issues of the election and U.S. politics, I can’t comment on whether the right choice was made. I know that many of my readers from the U.S. were thrilled that Bush was re-elected. Looking from a distance I can’t say I agree with all that Bush has done, nor do I agree with everything Kerry was promoting. However, I do find the concept quite funny and some of the comments are hilarious.
