Who's to blame?

Just thought I’d ask.

Who or what got you involved in blogging?

For me it was Hamo at Backyard Missionaries. (I know I’m not the only one)

I was at a day long seminar he was organising and he mentioned his blog. To that point I had heard of blogging but really didn’t explore the idea.

A good friend of mine (Dave at Bonwag) has been practicing a form of blogging for over ten years but seeing as he’s an I.T. guru, I didn’t think I’d be able to emulate his skills in setting up my own page.

When I saw Backyard Missionaries and started exploring a little more I found the variety of easy to use blogging tools and decided to have a go for myself.

Now it’s your turn. Let me know who got you hooked.

  • for me it was Garreth over at http://saintgaz.blogspot.com i think i got an email with his web address at the bottom and thought i would check it out, 10 minutes later i was setting up my own page. now im a blog junky. thinking i might set up a bloggers anonymous support group….

  • I got into it originally through livejournal (www.livejournal.com) about 4-5 years ago, which is a slightly different concept to blogging, being more of an interactive diary/journal, and then graduated into more of a usual blog format about 18 months ago.

The support group is probably a wise idea, roo.

  • I wanted to aspire people to be just like me. So starting a blog so people like Roo could emulate my deeds seemed like the natural progression.
Though Roo has totally outstripped me.
Seriously, I’d read Hamo’s blog and thought it would be a good way to record what’s happening in my life. I hate the normal journal thing but with a blog I feed my need for attention with the ability to get my thoughts on paper (well, actually a screen, but that’s not important).
I also thought that because I was getting into this emerging church thingy I needed to have one to fit in with the big kids.
