Back to work

I found it a little tough getting going today. I think most of us are conditioned to having a couple of days off at a time, so having just one day off yesterday to Celebrate Australia Day makes it feel a bit weird being back at work today. (Mind you, I was still on-air for my usual morning shift yesterday.) It’s alright though. We’re just a couple of days out from the weekend.

I hope your Australia Day celebrations went well. We had an absolute blast at the Town of Bassendean Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular. It was wonderful sitting back, relaxing, enjoying great live music.

It was also pretty special being there to see 15 people take the oath to become Aussies in the citizenship ceremony.

Emily Barker’s performance with Tod Johnston was an absolute highlight and the whole evening was capped off by a spectacular fireworks display backed by a wonderful soundtrack that took us all through a short history of Australian music. We’re already booking our spot on the grass for next year’s show.

  • I was fortunate to not have to work yesterday, and it seemed a bit strange having one day off then back to work today. At least we now have a very short working week until the weekend.
The Bassendean celebrations sound like a good alternative to the skyworks. I can imagine that traffic and parking is a bit easier than the skyworks? No, we didn’t go to skyworks, just too hard with two young children, and I don’t enjoy crowds and getting stuck in traffic at the best of times.
