Protestants are lazy

I found this as part of a post on a blog that I happened across. I know that it was posted in all seriousness, but it made me laugh.

This whole time I thought that God was a myth. Now I am beginning to renew my faith as a devout Lutheran. Its like Catholicism except we don’t take it as seriously. I said that once to a Catholic friend of mine and she said that Protestants are lazy.

I don’t know how funny any of my Lutheran friends would find it. I wonder what Luther would have thought.

  • Rodney, its like a two-edged sword…I’d like to get angry and have to laugh and agree.

Lutherans, unfortunately can be guilty of Grace abuse, perhaps because of their legacy understanding of salvation by Grace. However, so many Lutherans are the most devout, into-the-Word, Christians you could meet.

When a person graps the marvellous understanding of salvation by Grace – in the Lutheran sense of the word, but copuple this with totally heart driven putting the word into action & obedience then, I think, you really see Christainty in its full potential.

My Mother-in-law is a great example of this, a complete understanding of Grace – but just got back from Thailand with Op-Chirstmas-Child recently.

    I’m a good example of Grace abuse…

Have a great trip to India.
