Face to face

We had the most wonderful time last night. My cousin Trevor and his wife Helen are over from Sydney at the moment and so we went out for a meal together last night at Hans Cafe in Morley.

It was great to be able to catch up for a while before we had a quick tour of the radio station then heading back to our place for coffee and cake.

Have you ever found yourself catching up with people and quickly trying to calculate when you last spent time with them so you can work out what major life events have happened in the mean time? It’s been a few years since these rellies were last in Perth so my brain was working at a hundred miles a minute to make sure I wasn’t repeating stories we shared last time but not wanting to miss out anything significant.

Of course as well as all the catching up on news there’s something incredibly special about simply spending time with people that are close to you. I don’t know if it’s the same for you but I often find that the best part of getting together with friends is the very fact that you can see each other face to face and experience the physical contact of a handshake or a hug. There’s something very special about that kind of contact that you just don’t get with phone calls, blogs or emails.
