Number 7

There has been a lot of questions as to whether Lance Armstrong would compete in this year’s Tour de France. He has won a record six times and many were wondering if he would leave it at that.

This report from BBC Sport says that he’ll be competing at the tour for the new Discovery Channel Team. Discovery Channel picked up the sponsorship of the team following US Postal’s withdrawal from the sport.

Lance Armstrong has announced that he will ride in this year’s Tour de France and aim for a seventh straight win.

It was rumoured the 34-year-old would skip the event but part of the deal with new backers Discovery Channel was he would race at least one more Tour.

Australian television broadcaster SBS is showing every stage of the tour live this year for the first time. I expect that July will be a very tiring month for me.
