Party time

We went to a great kids party on the weekend. It was a 9th birthday party for one of Emily’s friends and it was held at their local gymnastics club.

All the kids were taken into the gym with the instructors putting them through their paces for a very full hour. They jumped, rolled, skipped and did all kinds of other activities while the parents got to sip coffee and chat.

Once they were done in the gym, they got some party food, sang happy birthday and cut the cake.

It was all so different to so many of the parties that the kids are invited to. Usually it’s a couple of fairly tame party games then the rest of the time is spent stuffing their faces with junk food. It was wonderful to see the kids being able to use up all their energy and trying something new and challenging.

And another great benefit of this kind of party ….. they slept so very well that night.
