A happy ending

One of the many things I love about cycling is that you get to see a lot more than you would if you were in a car.

On my way to work this morning I spotted a couple of coins on the road, then a purse and then a couple of what looked like credit cards. I pulled up pretty quickly and first of all picked up a couple of the cards as I headed back towards the purse.

I waited until a column of cars went by then I grabbed the purse. I waited again for more traffic to clear and then picked up the coins scattered across the road.

By the look of the coins, there had been hundreds of cars driving over them. Thankfully the purse is still in pretty good shape.

With a little bit of amateur detective work I managed to track down the owner who will drop in sometime to pick up her belongings. She thinks she must have put it on top of her car and driven off. Thanfully all the right bits and pieces seem to be there. I’m not even sure that she realised that it was gone.

I love it when a story has a happy ending.

  • Great story and I’m glad it was you, an honest person, who found the purse.
My husband has a habit of putting his Mountain Dew soda on the top of the car and driving away. He’s done this several times. It’s always funny.

  • i’m on the same wave length as jamie dawn … you were able to provide the happy ending ’cause you have morals to live by … cool …
