I’ve been realising just how dry Perth is recently. We don’t normally get a lot of rain and so we’re on water restrictions all year round. It’s been a little different over the past few days with the wettest start to May in decades.
Emily and James have been acting as if the showers that we’ve seen bucketing down over the past few days are a rare novelty. They just can’t wait to get their raincoats on so they can get out into the backyard to experience the rain fully. They just love being out amongst the drops.
I must admit that I don’t mind the rain too much myself. I quite enjoy the way everything looks so fresh after a bit of the wet stuff. I don’t even mind cycling in the rain as long as I can get warm and dry after my ride.
I wonder who first came up with the misguided notion that rainy conditions should be known as bad weather.

Those who refer to rain as bad weather have never cycled through a dust storm.
I come from a very very rainy state in Maryland, USA
We have been above our average of 99 inches of anual rainfall.
Enjoy your rain
