Cars vs Bikes

I had a choice this morning. With Pauline and the kids being away for a few days I had the choice of getting to work in my usual fashion, by bicycle, or doing something a little different by just jumping into the car.

I love cycling but there are advantages to driving. If I drive I don’t have to get into my cycling gear and then shower and change at work. It’s a tiny bit quicker, although that depends on the traffic on the day. The seat in the car is a little more comfortable. I can carry a bigger load in the car if I need to take something to work or back home.

I thought about it for a very short while because in the end it was a very easy decision. If I want to get the best out of the day I need to know I’m alive, and you just don’t get that in a car. I’ll take a bike over a car any day.
