Hello old friend

I had a very interesting conversation yesterday afternoon. I managed to track down the phone number of a guy who used to live across the road from me when I was in high school. We were pretty close friends for a number of years but then we moved and lost touch.

25 years later it must have been a surprise for Trevor to hear my voice on the end of the phone when I called. We caught up briefly and filled in the last few decades in a very sketchy manner.

We intend getting together in person sometime. I guess that’s where the real shock will come in. I don’t know how kind the years have been to him but I know I’ve aged.

One of the strangest things was finding that he and his family are living in the next suburb to us. We may well have passed each other at a shopping centre and not even known it.

I’m really looking forward to sitting down over a meal and letting all the memories flood back.
