… or so the old saying goes. If that really is the case, then I am truly cursed.
One of the things that is very dear to my heart is cycling and I just love getting away on my bike. Unfortunately I don’t get nearly enough opportunity to do so.
Some of my greatest memories come from my 5 cycling adventures across Australia, my 2 cycling trips in India and my very short ride through Canada’s Rocky Mountains. Added to this are many memorable moments on a variety of other rides. My daily commute by bicycle is a great way to start and finish my working day and I can’t imagine how awful it would be to travel by car each day.
While I’ve had my fair share of cycling bliss, I’m still very jealous of Chris from Life Cycle. Scroll through his blog and look at the many beautiful photos which show the kinds of places that he cycles each day. I’m determined to ride with Chris one day and looking at the views from where he rides, it just might have to be near his home in Queensland. I’ll get there one day, Chris.

Sigh. . . . š
I am guessing to have the time to do these rides that Chris doesn’t have children, or they have grown up and left home.
I know I went to a pretty rough school. It wasn’t private, it wasn’t popular and it wasn’t pretty. We had it all: underage sex, alcohol abuse, attempted suicides, drugs, fights, tensions, graft, corruption. And that was just my circle of three friends.
But when I was at school the saying was: “Jealousy’s a curse … but pregnancy is worse!”
Bruce, Peter’s description of “not popular” and “not pretty” kinda describes the reason I don’t have children! :^)
Sadly, there’s also a downside to riding in Queensland, as shown in the most recent post, but I think it’s all worth it.
However, for those who think they might be jealous, my advice is to hop on a bike yourself and have a look at the scenery in your own part of the world, at a gentler and more personal pace. You might be surprised by what you’ve missed in the past as you’ve passed through it. You might discover your own little piece of paradise to share with the world.
Hi Chris, I am just . . . . . jealous I guess? I love my kids to bits, but have found certain sacrifices are required such as less time available to ride my bike.
