My cheating heart

She stood there, across the other side of the room. She was young and beautiful. I glanced towards where she was standing and briefly caught her eye. In that moment I could see her dissapointment. We both knew I had cheated. I felt very low.

At the moment I’m on a 10 Day Detox Diet called Daniel’s Diet so when a friend offered to take me to lunch I knew that I wouldn’t be having my usual curry delicious from the Banana Leaf at the local food hall. We still went to the food hall and I wandered around until I spotted some stir fried vegetables at the Chinese food stall.

I sat down at a table with my friend to start enjoying my big plate of veges. I glanced around the food hall and caught the eye of the young lady who was serving at Banana Leaf. Although I don’t eat there all that often, she knew that whenever I do drop in to the food hall, I eat her curries.

I wanted so much to scream out, “But I’m on a diet. These vegetables don’t mean anything to me” but my lips remained silent.

I’m now a broken man. At the end of my 10 days I may visit the food hall again and see if the Banana Leaf will take me back. I know I’ve eaten food from another vendor but if I’m given the chance, I can start eating curry again.

  • *laughing* … i hope she takes you back …

i should cut down on my sugers and white flour … but i’m weak (and don’t have a weight problem to encourage that type of drastic change in my diet!) … sigh … i think to detox is a great idea …

we had an unwelcome visitor last night … a bear cut across our yard and left a 5 pound deposit … i need to get the shovel out later and move it from our path to the water! blah, darn bruins!

  • Thanks for your comments Saija and Donna.

Wow. A bear ‘dropping’ in on you. We don’t get anything quite as exotic as that in suburbia.

  • lol Rodney

It has been my experience that the best part of the detox diet is the retox.

Dont leave that curry to long 🙂

  • You food tramp you! After the diet you will have to order a double to get back in her good graces I think.
