How much TV do you watch on video? We taped a few programmes on Saturday night and sat in front of the TV last night to catch up on them.
No problem there but it all starts to get strange when you tape something and don’t get to watch it for a few weeks. It’s kind of like a bit of time travel.
There have been a number of times that we’ve sat down in the evening to see an older show on video. I then get the urge the following day to ask people at work, “Hey did you see that show on TV last night.” Thankfully I resist the urge because I can pretty much guarantee they didn’t see it last night. They might have seen it three weeks ago but probably not last night.

I sometimes confuse myself when watching a program I taped. This is because I will sometimes forget that I am watching a tape and when the ads come on I just keep watching. So when a promo for the news or another tv program comes on I think, “wasn’t that on last week?” or “I thought that happened ages ago?”
Bruce, I know just what you mean. I can sometimes get half way through an ad break before I realise that I can fast forward through.
On some ‘really’ old tapes I actually like having the old news breaks or promos so I can work out how long ago I taped the show.
I like watching really old tapes with weather forecast breaks and thinking “gosh its going to be nice and warm tomorrow”
🙂
I have almost completely stopped watching network TV in favor of DVDs…It is so much more convenient to see programs in 45 minutes with no commercial interruptions.
