It’s just wrong. That’s not how it should happen.
A couple of hours ago I was mixing some music on my PC for a school concert. It involved cutting down a few songs from CD to suit the planned programme.
James sat down near by with some homework and asked if I could make it a bit quieter.
Surely something is wrong when the child asks the parent to turn music down. I’m sure it’s meant to be the other way around.
It’s not the first time either. Emily has asked me to turn music down when I’ve been listening to a favourite CD on the stereo.
I think I’ve got some serious teaching to do so that my kids can enjoy music at intolerably loud levels like kids should.

It’s either that or the deafness that comes with age kicking in… 🙂
Uh, Rodney, I think our kids were switched at birth 🙂
It’s alright, just wait until they reach the teenage years.
Probably the answer here is that you’re a very hip dad, and your kids will come to appreciate that more and more.
Rodney!
Love this post.
There is a rule in my house: “No one’s music is allowed to be louder than mine!”
