Recovery

For someone who’s usually so full of life, it’s been pretty hard over the past couple of days to see James lying around at home. He hasn’t been feeling very well and even sitting up was a struggle for him at times yesterday.

Last night he was running quite a high temperature. We gave him something to reduce the temperature and he was soon asleep. I carried him off to his bed and Pauline tucked him in for the night.

This morning I heard a familiar bubbly voice and saw James bounding into the loungeroom. He tells me that he still feels a little unwell so Pauline’s keeping him home for one more day but he’s well and truly on the mend.

I hate being sick but if I had the option, I’d rather be unwell myself than see my kids suffering.

  • No, it’s not much fun seeing your children suffer. But there is something very special about cuddling and comforting your sick sondaughter and having them fall asleep in your arms.
