Red Nose Day

It’s Red Nose Day in Australia tomorrow.

I chatted to Angela Doyle, CEO of sids and kids, Western Australia today about the advances that have been made in research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Stillbirth and Neonatal Deaths.

Having been touched by a SIDS death in my extended family it’s a cause very close to my heart.

Some of the products they’re selling to raise money for research and their support services include badges, bears, pins, pens, keyrings and of course red noses. Thankfully the red noses have come a long way since the early, scratchy, hard plastic models. They’re now soft foam noses.

If you see any Red Nose Day products at the checkout today or tomorrow, please consider purchasing something to help others.

  • I now “officially” have a collection of red nose bears. I think 2 counts as a collection. I have the bee from last year and the super bear from this year. They both look at me from behind my rear vision mirror every time I get in my car. Sids is one of the two aussie charities that I support every year (the other is the cancer council). I had an 8 month old cousin die from sids, and he was out of the danger age, which was sad.
