Who are you?

Do you ever see someone you know while you’re out and you just can’t place them? What do you do? Do you wander up and say, “Hello, who are you again?” or do you avoid their glance?

I was wandering through the Galleria Shopping Centre yesterday and spotted a face I knew very well. I thought as hard as I could but just couldn’t remember who it was. Was it someone I knew or maybe just a face I’d seen on TV?

I couldn’t face the embarrassment of meeting up so I wandered past trying to think who it could be. My mind started scanning people and places until finally, many minutes later, it came to me. It was a guy I know who lives in a country area. The fact that he was in Perth had obviously thrown me because I’ve never seen him in the city before. By the time I’d worked out who it was it was too late. I couldn’t find him again to say hello.

Life would be so much easier if everyone wore name tags all the time.
