Take responsibility Robbie

Australian sprinter Robbie McEwan isn’t a happy man. After crossing the line in 3rd place at the end of the 3rd stage of the 2005 Tour de France, he’s been disqualified and relegated to last place for the stage.

If you watch any of the replays of the final sprint or even check out the photo attached to this article, you’ll see him trying to have a nap on fellow Aussie, Stuart O’Grady’s shoulder.

The thing that really annoys me is that McEwan isn’t prepared to put his hand up and say, “I did the wrong thing. I’ll accept the punishment.” Instead, he’s slammed the race judges and said that they got it wrong. He even goes so far as to blame Stuart O’Grady for the incident. “If you look at the video replay you can see that it was O’Grady who started things by leaning on me. He put his elbow out and I had to lean on him to stop myself from falling.”

Be a man Robbie. Admit you got it wrong and move on.
