It's not what you know ….

Do you remember the Tears for Fears song, Everybody Wants to Rule the World? I’ve got to say that I reckon they got it a little wrong. I’m not particularly interested in ruling the world. I don’t think I’d handle the stress all that well.

Of course it could have it’s benefits. I see that one of the world’s most powerful rulers is taking some time out soon for a spot of mountain biking.

George W. Bush is expecting a visit from fellow Texan, Lance Armstrong, who won a record seventh Tour de France victory last month. I’d love to go for a ride with Lance.

This weekend the guys are getting together to go mountain biking around Bush’s ranch. Lance has apparently described the US President as “one competitive dude”. Bush took up cycling for excersize after problems with his knee caused him to give up running.

George may well be very competitive on his bike but I think I’d still back Lance if it came to a race between the two.

  • There are so many good lines there… “Bush gives up running” (inspires the other party to put up a candidate). “Bush takes Lance for a ride” (and other broken policy promises). “Conquered Iraq: Bush sets sights on winning France” (new training partner). I wont even start on the “one competitive dude” options 🙂
Maybe Lance is destined for a move from the roadbike to political cycle…?
