I was reading this morning that people in Russia are showing their support for Russian president Vladimir Putin in a rather unusual way. Apparently many are getting tattooed with his image. The craze is particularly strong in Siberia.
One person who’s gone under the pen is Josef Radimov who says, “Being able to look down at my shoulder and seeing our president there all the time makes me feel more confident and safe.”
This shows amazing dedication to their leader but it raises two questions for me.
One – What happens when Putin makes way for a new president?
Two – Do you think it’ll catch on here in Australia with people tattooing themselves with pictures of John Howard?

In answer to point number two . . . . in a word . . . . no!
I sincerely hope the tattoo thing doesn’t happen. Much worse would be if they got his name on one of those red hearts! NOOOO!
Australia is really different in how we treat our politicians…imagine how the public would react if John Howard had an affair (ala many US presidents…)
“imagine how the public would react if John Howard had an affair”
Paula, don’t put such awful thoughts in my head. 🙂
