The domino theory

I don’t think I’ve ever played a game of dominos but I certainly played with some dominos over the weekend.

I’m sure you’ve seen those people on TV every now and then who set up thousands of dominos then knock them all down by pushing just one. They set up very elaborate displays with all the pieces falling just as they should.

This weekend James had his dominos out and started setting a few up then knocking them down. I joined in too and we started getting tricky. We had dominos going over a bridge between two coffee tables, turning corners and even climbing stairs.

My favourite was one I set up yesterday afternoon. I used some dominos to create four sets of tiny steps that met in the middle. The falling dominos went up one set of steps, down the other side, around a corner then up and down the other sets of steps. All this with just two sets of dominos.

I woke up this morning to the sound of Emily and James working on some more spectacular domino displays. I think I’m going to have to track down a few extra sets of dominos.
