Shining

I see that a handbag has been designed with a solar powered lining which lights up to help women find their keys in the dark. An external power cell traps enough energy from natural daylight to keep the bag’s battery permanently charged.

The handbag’s electro-luminescent lining lights up automatically when the bag is opened and continues to glow for 15 seconds. It switches off again to conserve energy when this time is up or after the zip is closed.

I think it’s a great idea. I’m hoping that they’ll design a similar thing with men’s wallets. I need all the help I can get when I open my wallet looking for money.

  • You are FUNNY! Seriously, I want one of those purses!!! But do they work in the dark, it’s solar powered right?

Can I link you on my blog?

  • As long as the purse sees a bit of light during the day it would store the power for use at night.

Sure you can link to my blog. If you check the bloglines list in my sidebar you’ll see that you’re already listed as one of my daily reads. 🙂

  • Ahh, now THAT is the kind of handbag a bloke wouldn’t mind carrying for his other half, one with a gadget built in!

  • I saw the commercials for this, I hope I never need one. However, since I’m spoiled and all, I might as well have one, don’t cha think? 😉

  • I find a good way to help me find money in my wallet is to pour superglue in there AFTER putting the money in…..
