Live from Supreme Court Gardens

From 4:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. yesterday I was joined by Ash Wright (left) and John Donoghue (middle) as we ran a live broadcast from Supreme Court Gardens in the City.

We were there for the lead up to Church Together 2005.

From 7:00 p.m. we broadcast the event itself live from the city.

It was fantastic to be able to catch up with old friends as well as make a few new friends. I met a couple of fellow bloggers but didn’t have much of a chance to talk. Sorry. I would have loved to chat for a while.

It was spectacular weather for the event and it was great to see a lot of people turning up early and indugling in a little cricket or football before things got underway later in the day. If you were at Church Together I’d love to hear what you thought.

  • yea…i was one of those who didnt get to speak to you 🙁 but you were doing the fantastic job of keeping others who werent there informed of whats happening. so you are forgiven! hehe!

Church together was awesome. seeing the churches of WA unite was awe-inspiring. i truely believe that a revival is coming to Australia, starting with WA, and this unity we are seeing would be one of the catalysts of God’s mightly movement shortly.

Paul Colman was great! the mosh pit went off. on the one hand, it was a pity it had to end when it ended, cos i think we all could have enjoyed worship so much more. on the other hand, if it had gone any longer, there would have been humanly no way i could have gotten up for work the next day. it was difficult enough as it was.

all in all, it was a great night!

  • I wanted to come, but we had just returned from church camp, so I was listening at home on the radio. It was awesome. Could really feel the prescence of God, even thru the radio. Thanks for a great broadcast.

  • Thanks for the alternate view, Lance.

As I commented on this blog around the time of last year’s event, I think that getting lots of local churches together as the church of Perth is a great idea but the format is not my personal taste.

It’s obviously impossible to include ‘something for everyone’ but I’d certainly like to see some reflective or liturgical elements included for those who come from that worship tradition.

I was brought up a Baptist so liturgy isn’t something I really identify with but I know that that’s how a large percentage of ‘the church of Perth’ connect with God on a Sunday, so it’d be great to see that reflected.

  • Well I appreciate that some Christians are open to the idea that Church Together may not be to everyone’s taste..and that ‘church unity’ is more than just everybody being united behind Phil Baker’s (warped) idea of church.

Because at the moment, I don’t hear any other dissenting voices….which makes me think all Christians really do like this kind of wank.
