We were out for a barbecue last night catching up with some family that we won’t get to see on Christmas Day. The big day can get a bit complicated if you try to catch up with everyone. We’ll be getting together with two lots of family, one for lunch, one for dinner.
I think that one of the things that’s so easy to forget from year to year is how busy the roads can get on Christmas Day. Sometime in the afternoon we’ll leave my brother’s home where we’re having lunch to drive across the city to spend the evening with Pauline’s family. It might not be bumper to bumper but I know it’ll almost look like peak hour as people travel from place to place.
If you’re travelling, just remember to allow some extra time when you have to juggle your engagements on Sunday. The last thing you want to do is end up getting frustrated in traffic or speeding to catch up time. Give yourself the time you need and try to stay calm.
Of course with the fact that we’ll be going from one big meal to another, it might be better for us if ride our bikes between meals to try to cycle off that extra Christmas pudding.

i love the picture of the chocolate in your last post …mmmmmm choco-late! we have about half a dozen finnish Fazer chocolate bars, ready to be devoured over the holidays …
we will also have mild weather for Christmas this year … and since i’ve already visited the neighbourhood ditch this week, i will be sure to drive more carefully for the rest of the winter!
blessings to you and Merry Christmas!
Oh wow. That picture looks absolutely wonderful! Tell me about the traffic rush. I went down to the local mall this evening and twice I was afraid for my life. People just don’t know how to drive this time of year!
Merry Christmas, Rodney!
At least it’s not that hot yet. When it’s hot people just want to get to where they’re going quickly to escape the heat, especially when there’s no A/C in the car. The shopping centres usually provide good relief.
A Christmas barbeque, now that’s something I wish would catch on here 😉
Merry Christmas and a blessed 2006 to you and yours, Rodney!
Merry Christmas to you and your family Rodney,
blessings for the coming year.
Have a wonderful Christmas Rodney!
Are you ready for it? 😉
My sincere greetings to you and your family Rodney. Have a blessed Christmas. I’m having BBQ dinner with some friends on Christmas day, cos all my family members are overseas at the moment.
