A muggy Tuesday

Did you manage to sleep OK last night? It was a bit muggy in Perth. We had a decent rain overnight which is always welcome in the middle of summer. It helps to freshen things up but the humidity can be a little hard to handle.

It’s always tough when you wake up after a warm, humid night. You feel almost as tired as you were before you went to bed.

The cycle to work was interesting. I had to take my sunnies off while I waited at a red light this morning because the lenses were fogging up. They’re OK as long as I’m moving but if I stop for a minute or so I can’t see a thing through them.

Maybe I need a small battery operated demister fitted to my sunglasses.

  • Perth seems to be having an odd summer.

To stop your glasses fogging up, smear some toothpaste on them and then wash it off. They won’t missed up for a while.

Or else rub a cut potato on them. Same effect.

  • Thanks David. I’ll have to give that a try.

It certainly has been a weird summer. Last night we got the entire average February rainfall in two hours. We might not get any more rain this month but we’ve already reached the average.

  • It was actually cool last night, and today I’m wearing long pants for the first time in weeks. I even had something warm for lunch instead of my regular fruit salad & yoghurt!

  • A bit muggy? Geez, you should spend some time up here. Seriously, “a bit muggy” is considered unusually cool at night here. BTW, to clear up fogged sunglasses, I just use a bit of spit and wipe it with a handkerchief. Crude, but effective, and plentiful in supply.
