Childhood Dreams

Things have a way of turning out so differently to how we plan them when we are young. We have high hopes for our future but things don’t quite go according to the dreams we had way back then.

I’d have to admit that many of the things I wished for way back when I was a child have come to pass. Back when I was very young I wanted to be a radio announcer and I certainly got my wish there. I wanted to marry a beautiful woman and that’s exactly what I did.

When childhood dreams don’t come to pass we can be dissapointed. On the other hand, sometimes there are dreams that don’t come true and we look back and say, “Thank God for that.”

What childhood dreams are you glad didn’t come true?

  • I wanted to be a famous singer for a little while. I guess I still wouldn’t mind it, well maybe not the famous part. But in a lot of ways I’m glad nothing ever came of it. The music industry isn’t an easy place to be. In saying that I don’t think I’d pass up the opportunity if it was offered (not that it will be). Just that if it had happened when I was younger I think I’d be a very different person. Hmmm.

I really wanted to be a professional basketball player.

    I’m glad I’m a minister instead. 🙂
