Time for a chat?

Do you use any kind of internet messaging to chat to friends? The most frustrating thing I find about most messaging systems is that people sign up to them, add a bunch of contacts, and then never log in again.

If you have an account with any messaging service, how about logging in and saying hello. Feel free to add me to your list of contacts and if you see me on-line, please say hello.

I’ve got a list in my sidebar, which I’ve repeated below, that tells you my user names for a variety of services. All of them have messaging capabilities and Skype lets you call and speak to me.

AIM – journeyblog
ICQ – 54461629
MSN – oz_cyclist@hotmail.com
SKYPE – RodneyOlsen
YAHOO – journeyblog

If you’re a regular listener to my morning programme on 98.5 Sonshine FM you can now comment during the programme by using the MSN user details – mornings@sonshinefm.ws

I look forward to chatting with you soon.

UPDATE: Wow. Within a couple of hours of publishing this post I’ve had 4 people use messaging services to say hello and have a chat. I really enjoyed catching up with a variety of people.

  • I can’t see the point of IM if you turn it off, really. It’s so much easier than email to just drop a note to ppl.

About the only time mine would be off is when I’ve had it on with the laptop and I’ve closed that to travel home. ie – almost never.

  • Rodney, I was a messaging addict when I had a home. Now I am homeless, and my experiences chatting on yahoo seem like a different life. I really appreciate your blog. Keep the posts coming in. Because my girlfriend is in Mindanao, it seems you’re in the same timezone as her. I am not really geo saavy, so looking at the time on your site made me realize “Hey! That is the same time for Mari!” Hope you are having a blessed day!

  • Rodney I chat often but usually log in as invisble. Next time I see you on I will say hi. I don’t like to “but” people but now that I have an invitation I’d love to chat with you again sometime.

My new blog is almost up.

  • Rodney, I will add you to my MSN contacts & send you my address. I’ve also got skpe, just in the process of getting a webcam too. Chat to you soon.
