We need rain. We need dams full. It has been extremely dry in Western Australia. Thankfully we did get a bit of rain in the metropolitan area yesterday and last night. I’m not sure how much made it out to the farming areas where the need is far more desperate.
There were some very heavy downpours around our place yesterday afternoon. As it got closer and closer to the time I had to leave work to head home it got darker and darker outside. It felt a bit strange having to turn my bike lights on at that time of the day.
When I’m cycling in the rain I generally try to avoid larger puddles. It’s a bit hard to do that when the entire road is a puddle.
Thankfully I was prepared for the rain. I had my rain jacket on to keep some of me dry and I had my high tech moisture prevention device for my mobile phone and iPod. Well maybe it’s not that high tech. Nothing keeps the rain away from small electrical devices quite like a snap lock sandwich bag.

What a great idea rodney
I am sure your phone and I Pod were both “Glad” to stay dry, I am sure you were happy they stayed dry too!
sounds kind of scary a bit… yesterday evening it went dark here suddenly, too. If I had been on my bike I would have needed lights…
We got only little rain and it didn´t cool down a bit. (Which is alright for me now. Let´s see how I do in December when I come out of winter to Perth-temperatures…)
Those Glad Snap Lock bags are the best ever invention !!
Hope you get some rain soon … if you do, please share, as we are desperately in need, too !! Must be something to do with us living in Australia … the driest continent (or so I read somewhere !!).
Take care, and have a good weekend.

I like the fact that the snack-size bags are a perfect fit for my phone. I always carry my phone in one, even if it is dry out. I am nervous about how all of my sweat will affect the phone in this Florida heat.
I havent riden a bike for a few years now. I wouln’t mind riding in the drizzle, but if it started to rain heavily, I’d have to stop & seek shelter.
