Soak up the sun

We’ve had a little rain over the last couple of days which has been extremely welcome. Perth is a very dry place and the south western area of Australia has experienced some of its driest conditions on record over the past few months. We desperately need more of the wet stuff.

Having said that, we spent a fair slab of Sunday afternoon at a barbecue with friends from church. The weather was fine, the sun was quite warm and it certainly reminded me that Perth is a wonderful place to live. There’s probably not too many places that can boast days like that in the middle of winter.

The interesting thing was that whenever anyone mentioned the beautiful weather, someone else would remark on how much we needed the rain. It was as if we were somehow doing the wrong thing by enjoying a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I’d love to see a lot more rain tumbling down. We certainly need it here in Perth and further out into the farming areas and I thank God whenever we get a decent shower.

On the other hand I don’t think we should feel guilty about enjoying a beautiful day. I know that we’re experiencing an extremely dry season and how much that’s hurting certain sectors of the community. I’m praying for rain, but in the mean time when we get days like Sunday I’m going to sit outside and soak it up.

  • yes rodney i agree

we certainly need a drop or two of H2o(water) to fall from the sky

i don’t like to get too fussed about the weather

i just thank god for whatever the weather may be each day

this way i know i can either enjoy the sun or be thankful for the rain

but while it is sunny i do enjoy making the most of it

  • well here in East Gippsland, Victoria, we get beautiful sunny days in winter too.

unfortunately we haven’t had much rain either and have just paid to get a tank of water delivered 🙁
    chlorinated water is awful!
