Simply Living

I mentioned a couple of posts back that we’re looking at podcasting a lot of our radio content from 98.5 Sonshine FM. Drew from Evoca left a comment to say that he wanted to get involved and so our I.T. expert will be trying to work out how that will work. Once that’s all up and running you’ll be able to subscribe to podcasts and listen to them however you like.

In the mean time, we now have a simple recording system in the studio to grab bits of our programming. I used it this morning to record my segment with Life Skills Trainer, Jill Bonanno. I then used my free Evoca account to upload the segment for you to hear.

Click on the play button on the player in the top left corner of this post and have a listen. We were talking about remembering the old days when we enjoyed the simpler things of life. About half way through we got some listeners calling in with their memories. Great stuff.

What are the simple things you remember from years ago? What are the treasured times for you? Have a listen to the programme and then leave a few comments in the comments section of this post.

  • This is really great to listen to – though heaps of the things seem to be typical australian-like and unknown to me.
What comes to my mind also is, when I was a kid there were no mobile phones. What would you have done when your car breaks down, for example. Life is much easier now in such cases.
Or TV – there weren´t but three programmes…

I have a question, though. I could listen to you only because I´m alone in the office today. At home I don´t have internet access – is there a possibility to download the files to?

  • Yes, Iris, we do have plans to make the audio available for download. We’re just in the initial stages of setting things up but we really do hope to have the audio available in a number of formats.

  • Rodney, would be great if a download-function would be available then. Here are all german people at work and I don´t wanna be a point of interest listening to something in english. Plus, any noise would disturb the others.
    Wish you a nice weekend.

  • I was actually listening to this segment last night (this morning, your time) while I was reading your blog.

It was an interesting segment. It is interesting to see that some of the things were very similar, such as playing football without regard for rules (although we played American rules) and looking at clounds; other things were very uniquely Australian, or at least sounded that way with your accents.

  • That is one of the reasons I love “The Andy Griffith Show”, it is the simplicity of it all.

I am looking forward to the podcast to hit Itunes.
