It seems that singing in the shower is costing us too much money as well as wasting electricity and water.
According to this article at Ananova, “Power supplier Energy Australia says exercising the vocal cords in the bathroom adds an extra 9.08 minutes to a shower.”
The bad new is that we’ve considered as a legitimate form of self expression is apparently harming the planet by contributing to global warming. And they’re not just targetting bathroom popstars. Daydreaming, shaving, and other nonessential activities in the shower are sending the earth into meltdown too.
I don’t often sing in the shower but I do enjoy finding that one note that reverberates around the room. I sometimes go up and down the scales to find that note then hang on to it for a while to enjoy the full sound. (Did I share too much?)
The friends we stayed with in Melbourne a couple of weeks back had one of those waterproof shower radios. I always thought they were a silly idea but I quite enjoyed catching up with the latest news while I was adding extra shine and bounce to my thinning hair.
Are you an in and out kind of showerer or do you like to linger? Do you sing in the shower? If you do, what are you favourite songs in the shower? Are you prepared to give up this simple pleasure to save the planet?

Yep I have to admit that I am a shower singer. Sometimes I sound good, but sometimes it is well, umh, not so good!
I also have one of those waterproof shower radios. It is always tuned in to 98.5 to catch the news in the morning.
Hmmm, I think I have shared too much 😉
What about bathing? I think it would save more water, but I don’t know for sure; in India only few people use bath tubs.
Have I shared too little?
I prefer to use a shower. But I don’t spend a long time in there. Water collected in bath tubs is too cold!
I do enjoy singing in the shower. Just whatever I feel like singing at the time is what I sing. But I always make sure the door is closed so no one else can hear me
