FAST FOR FOOD – Day Seventeen

Fast_for_Food.jpg

We’re now into the third week of FAST for FOOD which runs throughout November and is a response to the Global Food Crisis that is threatening millions of lives.

If this is the first you’ve heard of this initiative of Compassion you can read my earlier posts. Every 7 Seconds … and FAST for FOOD Explained.

Each day throughout November I’m posting a short Bible passage from the FAST for FOOD Calendar.

There is a theme for each week of the month and a passage to read as a focus of prayer.

The theme of week three is – RENEW OUR MINDS.

Let’s focus on filling our minds with God’s word and His ways so that we become more in-tune with Him.

DAY 17 – Philippians 2:1–4 – Do we consider ourselves better than the poor?

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
