Things I hate about Facebook.

It’s kind of frightening how many of these things I could tick.

I certainly don’t hate Facebook but it really does have some annoying ‘features’.

So, what are the things you hate, or love, about Facebook?

  • First, Rodney–thanks so much for your condolences at my blog. I appreciated them so much. You are one of my favorite fellow bloggers and your comments always mean a lot to me.

Now Facebook… I’ve only been on there for three months but I mostly love it! I can’t think of anything I hate, actually. Facebook has helped me find people I’ve not heard from in twenty or even thirty years. I love that, but of course, it’s a little sad when those people write to me once, maybe twice, then I never hear from them again. But hey–that’s real life. We’re not all meant to be best buddies with everyone we ever met. But the fact remains that I love learning where Life has taken those old friends and just knowing they are still in this world.

And since I’ve lived in three different states, have made friends online for 8 years, and everyone is spread out all over, it’s wonderful to keep track of them all on one page there at Facebook. That’s my favorite part–being reminded of my friends when they leave their comments and watching them live their days.

(So Pollyanna–ish, I know. I could go on, but I’ll stop so no one will gag. 🙂 ) God bless you, Rodney….Debra

  • I’m one of the “old people” this guy wants to ban from Facebook (perhaps you are too). As for his 25 things he hates, learn to use the “ignore” button and life is much more pleasant.

I’ve been on FB for about a year and a half and love it.

    So there.

  • Mostly I love Facebook but ummmm…..let’s see…..things I don’t like:

    1. Being forced to invite friends when adding applications.
    2. The way people add friends and then delete them for no reason….and then add them again. I mean, what’s with that?!?

  • I really hate that people choose to post so many things to their feed. Do I really need to know you took 12 quizzes? I do like that you can see more or less of a person in the new version though. I also hate all the memes going around. I hate getting tagged for them all.

And Sarah, while small, you just hit “skip” on those applications. According to Facebook rules, it has to appear there.

  • I totally agree, it’s very funny tho.
I also don’t like the “invites” and “poker games” etc stuff.
I’d rather just chat and catch up with friends.

  • Good to hear that you’re reconnecting with far flung friends, Debra.

I’ve caught up with a couple of ‘old friends’ but I’m surprised at how few I’ve found on Facebook. I keep hearing stories like yours of people finding long lost friends but it hasn’t been my experience so far. Hopefully I’ll find a few more sometime soon.

  • Sarah, I haven’t had anyone do the delete then add again thing with me, but I know exactly what you mean about having to invite friends. I hate the way you can’t just use an application, you have to allow it access to your details and all the rest. Most of the time I just hit delete.

  • Hello Jenny. Thanks for dropping in.

I don’t mind if other people take all those quizzes and do all those memes, I just wonder where they find the time. 🙂

I get relatively few meme requests these days. Maybe frineds have realised that I don’t respond to a lot of those things on Facebook.
