They don’t make them like that any more … (and probably never did.)

Have you ever despaired for not being able to match up to the saints of old? Do you wish you could be as strong in your faith as men and women used to be?

While we obviously need to be ever drawing closer to God, we need to remember that those that have gone before us were not perfect.

A new biography has been written about John Wesley and Ship of Fools has published this brief summary of details you probably didn’t know about him.

I should have posted this before but …

… I’ve only just got around to it.

I recently joined a bunch of wonderful young people who rode their bikes to raise money for the distribution of Bible Society literacy materials in Indonesia. The materials are scripture portions that are used in literacy training.

The kids are part of Endeavour Christian Gathering. Thanks to Pastor Max Randall for sending me a scan of the article that appeared on the front page of the local paper in Joondalup.

You Looking at Me?

Our son James maybe only 5 years old but he knows how to operate our digital camera and he knows how to take a great photo of an alpaca.

He took this today at the Pickering Brook Agricultural Show.

We all had a wonderful time.

Goodbye Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe

Here in Australia Channel 9 don’t let us say goodbye to Friends until later this year but maybe those in the U.S. can give us their feelings on farewelling Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe.

Below are a couple of quotes from an article about the finale. If you’re a Friends fan beware: THE ARTICLE GIVES AWAY THE ENDING.

In New York, the final episode was beamed on a big screen in Times Square, and some 3,000 people watched sat on blankets and watched in a park overlooking the Hudson River in Tribeca.

The Friends finale was likely to be the second most-watched TV show of the year, behind the Super Bowl, which had almost 90 million viewers.

Off to the Show

It’s the day for the Pickering Brook Agricultural Show at George Spriggs Reserve in Pickering Brook.

I’ve been asked to be the MC for the main stage and to make all the PA announcements throughout the day. I did the same thing as a favour for a friend last year so they must have liked what I did to ask me back.

It’s a fantastic day of fun, finishing up with spectacular fireworks soon after dark. I’ll try and get a few photos of the day to share with you tomorrow.
