Wendy Cunningham – What if You’re Wrong?

Wendy Cunningham is all about gaining perspective and looking more deeply at not only the ideas and beliefs that we hold but where those ideas and beliefs are formed.

Wendy is a wife, an author, an entrepreneur, and a homeschool mom of three. She also hosts the Gaining My Perspective podast. Her current book, What if You’re Wrong? explores a massive change in her own thinking.

As an atheist who critically thought her way to faith, Wendy Cunningham believes it’s important to evaluate where our beliefs about God come from as we consider where we might be mistaken. This is Wendy’s first solo book project—she co-authored the book Success Through Failing—but she’s been a writer for more than twenty years.

It was my pleasure to welcome her to my podcast Bleeding Daylight recently. You can hear our conversation on Bleeding Daylight, wherever you listen to podcasts, or click the play button on the audio player below.

Dorsey Ross – Overcomer

His parents were told they should abandon him. They didn’t listen and Dorsey Ross has been ignoring every limitation ever since.

Dorsey Ross was born with a severe congenital disability. Now, in his mid-40s, Dorsey has proved the doctors wrong, but life still has been full of challenges.

Dorsey was born on January 16th, 1977, with a congenital disability known as Apert Syndrome. When Dorsey was born, his forehead was pushed outward, his nose and mouth were pushed inward, and his fingers and toes were fused, meaning he had no individual movement of them. Doctor’s gave Dorsey’s parents no hope for his survival and advised them to put him into an institution. His parents both knew and trusted in God, and they believed that God would do great things in Dorsey’s life. Throughout his life, Dorsey has had to overcome a lot of obstacles, and trials, being bullied, called names like monster and freak, and undergone multiple operations.

Teachers told Dorsey he would not make it in college, and with all odds against him, he entered Queens Borough Community College. After four years there, and after attaining an associate degree, he entered the University of Valley Forge. After years of hard work and perseverance, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry. His life saying is, “can’t is not in my vocabulary” because, for most of his life, he has never used the word can’t. He believes that with God, all things are possible and that he can do all things through Christ who gives him strength. It’s with God’s help he is overcoming life’s obstacles.

He’s been told that so many of the milestones that most of us take for granted would be impossible for him. He’s refused to listen.

Dorsey was my guest on my podcast, Bleeding Daylight, this week. You can hear his incredible story wherever you find podcasts or by using the audio player below.

John Simmons – Invisible Addiction

John Simmons battled an invisible addiction that plunged him into debt and deep depression. He was living a life that was totally out of control and the very thing that was pushing him closer and closer to destruction was the thing he thought would solve the issues he was facing.

It was a downward spiral that almost cost him his life.

Things are very different now. These days, John is bringing hope into the lives of others through his ministry, Testimony House.

John is the guest on my podcast, Bleeding Daylight, this week. You can hear his story wherever you listen to podcasts or use the media player below.

Caris Snider – Anxiety Elephants

Depression, anxiety, fear, pain, shame, failure, feeling not enough, even wanting to leave this world. These are all things that Caris Snider has experienced.

Caris is my guest this week on my podcast, Bleeding Daylight.

If we’re honest, most of us have some kind of disconnect between our personal inner world and the person that the world sees, but for Caris, it was like a gaping chasm.

She very much seemed to have it all together. She was a wife, mum, friend and worship leader. Unfortunately, below the surface, things were quite different. Caris was hiding a secret, even from those closest to her and on Bleeding Daylight we lift the lid on that secret and discover the turnaround that not only helped her, but that has allowed her to help others.

Caris is the author of the book Anxiety Elephants and it was an honour to have her join me on Bleeding Daylight.

Whether you’ve encountered any of the feelings that Caris did, or you’re wanting to help someone you know, you’ll find hope and encouragement in her story.

Sharon Tedford – 61 Things

Do you run towards or away from change?

However you answer that question, this week’s episode of my podcast, Bleeding Daylight, will be a real encouragement for you.

It’s the story of Sharon Tedford and her family’s move across the world but it’s so much more than that.

Sharon is a singer/songwriter, artist, podcaster and so much more. You’ll be inspired by her and motivated to make change in your own life.

Sharon Tedford is a longtime, avid writer. Her work includes plays, poems, songs, spoken word narratives, and creative worship experiences. 2017 marks the year she finally published some of her work, with the release of her first book, Stand – The Stories and Scriptures. This book was birthed out of the songs on the companion CD, also entitled Stand.

An experienced worship leader of more than 20 years and more recently a Bible teacher, Sharon has traveled the world, including her favorite setting so far—in the beautiful mountains of Australia. She is a Brit, currently residing in Texas. Not surprisingly, Sharon occasionally has a different perspective from those in her adopted home state.

Sharon loves diving deeply into words and has an uncanny gift to expound on the truth of Scripture through story and song. Her conversational writing style puts people at ease and leaves the reader feeling as though they have enjoyed a chat and a warming cup of tea with a friend. If you’re not a Brit, you may find yourself reading her work with an internal English accent – you have been warned!

Sharon lives with her Irish husband—yes, more than one accent in her house—and three children.61 Things
